Description
The Quantum R-TRAK is a rear-wheel-drive power base with independent SRS suspension and a 300 lbs (136 kg) capacity set by the seating.
What does it do and how does it work?
- Rear-wheel drive: two 4-pole motors drive 14 in (36 cm) rear wheels, with 9 in (23 cm) casters and 4 in (10 cm) anti-tips.
- Capacity: 300 lbs (136 kg), set by the seating you choose.
- Speed and range: up to 11 km/h (7 mph), and up to 26.3 km (16.34 mi) on Group 24 batteries.
- Ride: independent SRS suspension on all four wheels, and LED lighting in the caster arms and fenders.
- Controls: NE+ or Q-Logic 3 electronics, a USB charger and drive-wheel colour accents.
Who is it for, and who should choose something else?
- It suits a rider who needs rear-wheel-drive stability in a narrow 24.2 in (61.6 cm) base.
- Choose a mid-wheel base for a tighter turn, or a folding chair if you lift it into a car.
- It is a base, not a finished chair: seating, electronics, riggings and the lift are chosen in the build.
Will it fit?
- Rider: up to 300 lbs (136 kg), with the seating setting the final rating.
- Base: 24.2 in (61.6 cm) wide; 34.8 in (88.4 cm) long in stowage, 44.5 in (113 cm) with front riggings.
- Turns: 25.7 in (65.3 cm) radius, 3.97 in (10.1 cm) clearance, a 2.36 in (60 mm) obstacle and a 7.5 degree slope.
- Seat: TRU Balance 3 in 12-22 in (30-56 cm) widths and depths, or Flex in 15-22 in by 15-20 in; seat height 16-19.5 in (41-50 cm).
Using it day to day
- Charge with the 8A off-board charger; the controller shows the charge level and the charger LED shows completion.
- Use the four labelled tie-down points for vehicle travel; never use the freewheel levers as tie-downs.
- To push, move both freewheel levers to freewheel mode; the brakes are off, so stay on level ground.
What does it work with, and what are its limits?
- Stay within 300 lbs (136 kg); the seating sets the rating.
- It climbs a 2.36 in (60 mm) obstacle and a 7.5 degree slope at most.
- The optional 10 in (25.4 cm) seat lift lowers the driving speed.
- Warranty: lifetime frame; 2 years electronics, motors and components; 6 months bearings; 12 months batteries.
Which version should I choose?
- Seating: TRU Balance 3 static, power tilt or power lift and tilt, or TRU Balance Flex.
- Electronics: NE+ or Q-Logic 3.
- Colours: 14 options, including Evolution Orange, Midnight Blue and Back in Black.
How does it compare?
- The Quantum Edge 4 is a mid-wheel base that turns in 22.8 in (57.9 cm).
- The Quantum 1450 is a front-wheel bariatric base for heavier riders.
- See all standard power wheelchairs.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between NE+ and Q-Logic 3?

What does the 10 in lift do to the chair?
It adds 10 in (25.4 cm) of power seat elevation and limits driving to 5.6 km/h (3.5 mph) while raised.
What comes with the base?
The power base, two Group 24 batteries and the 8A off-board charger; seating and electronics are chosen in the build.
