ROHO, part of Permobil Seating and Positioning, makes the Hybrid Elite SR: a single-compartment air cell insert set into a contoured foam base, 4.25 in (108 mm) high.
What does it do and how does it work?
- Hybrid build: ROHO DRY FLOATATION interconnected air cells sit inside a contoured foam base with leg troughs, so the cushion pairs an adjustable air surface with the stable shape of foam.
- One compartment: the insert has one inflation valve, set with the included hand pump.
- Sensor Ready: the SR has a quick-disconnect port for the optional ROHO Smart Check monitor.
Who is it for, and who should choose something else?
- Maker's description: Permobil rates it for people with skin or soft tissue breakdown history or risk who need pelvic asymmetry accommodated, a stable transfer surface, or pelvic and lower extremity positioning.
- Assessment first: an occupational therapist or physiotherapist chooses the size and sets the air.

- Widths: 14 to 18 in in 1 in steps, plus 20, 22 and 24 in (356 to 610 mm).

- Sizes: 26 combinations from 14x14 to 24x20 in; the item number and cover tag give the size.
- Finished size: about 3/4 in (19 mm) larger than nominal, with the depth including 3/4 in of foam base.
- Seat height: at 4.25 in it sits higher than an air-only cushion, changing transfers, table height and footrests.
- Capacity: 500 lbs (225 kg), sized to the individual; 3.25 lbs (1.4 kg) at 18 x 17 in.
Using it day to day
- Hand check: slide your fingers under the bony prominences; about 0.5 to 1 in (13 to 25 mm) of air should remain, adjusted with the pump and valve; check daily.
- Cover: the non-skid surface faces down, and the seated-figure symbol helps orient the cover; never use the cushion without it.
- Smart Check: attach the optional monitor to the SR port for a push-button check, and detach it before cleaning.
- Care: hand wash and air dry; do not machine wash or dry the foam base or air insert, keep water out, and do not exceed 70 C (158 F).
- Warranty: 24 months on the cushion and 6 months on the cover; regular wear is not a defect.

- Included: the cushion, cover, repair kit, hand pump, manual and warranty supplement.
- Separate items: the Smart Check monitor, replacement covers, cell pads and foam bases are ordered separately; ask us for a quote.
- Returns: used cushions are non-returnable; read the return policy.

Frequently asked questions
Is the Hybrid Elite SR the same as the ROHO Hybrid Elite?
No. The plain Hybrid Elite is the dual-compartment build with two independent air sections in the pelvic area; the SR is the single-compartment version with the sensor port.
What is the SR port for?
Sensor Ready: the cushion has a quick-disconnect port for the optional ROHO Smart Check monitor, which checks the inflation setting.
How much air should be in the cushion?
Inflate through the valve with the hand pump, then hand-check daily by sliding your fingers under the bony prominences; there should be about 0.5 to 1 in of air before you feel the base.

Permobil warrants the ROHO Hybrid Elite SR cushion against manufacturing defects.
- Cushion: 24 months.
- Cushion cover: 6 months.
- Wear from regular use is not a manufacturing defect.
- Alterations, modifications made to fit other products, and irregular use void the warranty.
- The original purchaser starts a claim through the supplier who sold the cushion, or any authorized Permobil supplier.
