The Span America Geo-Matt Soft Skin sleeve, part 50960-561 (72 in) or 50960-590 (80 in), is a replacement cover that keeps fluids off a Geo-Matt therapeutic foam overlay.
What does it do and how does it work?
- The flexible Soft Skin surface keeps spilled or incontinent fluid out of the segmented foam.
- It follows the overlay's 800-plus individually responsive foam cells, and the Ring-of-Air channels still vent heat and moisture.
Who is it for, and who should choose something else?
- Replacing a torn, stained or soiled sleeve on a sound Geo-Matt overlay.
- A setting without a fire-retardant requirement; that fitted part is 50960-563.
- A collapsed foam core needs a new overlay, not a cover.
Will it fit?
- It is cut for the 33 by 72 by 3.5 in (84 by 183 by 9 cm) Geo-Matt overlay; the 80 in version takes 50960-590.
- The overlay is rated to 250 lbs (113 kg); the sleeve carries that rating.

Using it day to day
- Fit the sleeve over the foam before the sheet. Check for tears at each bed change; a split lets fluid reach the foam.
- Clean and disinfect it as you clean other mattress covers.

- 50960-561 is the 72 in fitted sleeve.
- 50960-590 is the 80 in sleeve.
- The fire-retardant alternatives are 50960-563 (fitted) and SP759-000 (tubular).
How does it compare?
The fire-retardant fitted sleeve is the same cut in a fire-retardant grade. A vinyl and nylon zippered cover encloses the overlay and wipes clean. The nylon fitted coverlet is a fabric top without the fluid barrier.
