Description
The Handicare DisposableBelt 6054 is a single-use transfer belt that gives a caregiver a secure hold during a sit-to-stand, a seated transfer or walking. Item 6054 is a pack of five.
What does it do and how does it work?
- The 47 in (120 cm) by 4 in (10 cm) belt tightens by hand with a hook-and-loop closure.
- Two loops on one belt, medium and large, give a snug or a roomier fit.
- Vertical and horizontal handles, including cross-grips at the back, give the caregiver a grip.
- Safe working load: 220 lbs (100 kg).
Who is it for, and who should choose something else?
- For a person who can stand with help and needs a secure hold during a short transfer.
- For short-term use: discard it when soiled or no longer needed.
- For daily long-term use, choose a washable belt such as the Drive RTL6292.
Will it fit?
- Measure below the waist. The medium loop takes 33-37 in (84-94 cm); the large loop 36-40 in (92-102 cm).
- One belt has both loops, so there is no separate small or extra-large.
Using it day to day
- Place it below the waist, choose the loop, fasten and tighten.
- Lean the user forward, and work in towards your body.
- One caregiver can work alone; two stand on either side at the cross-grips.
- Release the closure to remove it.
- Check seams and material before each use; discard if worn or faded.
What does it work with, and what are its limits?
- It is not a lifting sling, and must not be used as a lifting device.
- Do not exceed the 220 lbs (100 kg) load rating.
- A person who cannot take weight through the legs needs a full-body sling and a lift.
How does it compare?
For daily use, the Drive RTL6292 gait belt is washable and fastens with a buckle. The ReTurnBelt disposable size L is another single-use belt for a 49-57 in (125-145 cm) waist. See all transfer and gait belts.

Yes. The handles let one caregiver work alone or two work from opposite sides.
Can it be washed and reused?
No. Do not launder it; discard it when it is soiled or no longer required.
