The Drive BTR20-B is a 20 inch blue steel transport chair that a companion pushes, for riders up to 450 lb (204 kg).
Who it suits, and who should choose something else
- A companion pushes this transport chair. The rider does not propel it.
- The limit is 450 lb (204 kg), including what is carried. It is not a 700 lb wheelchair.
- The rider needs to push: see the Drive Sentra heavy-duty wheelchair, which is self-propelled, not this transport.
- A 22 inch steel seat: the 22 inch steel transport, which has a red frame.
Check the fit
- Measure hip width at the widest point, back of the hips to back of the knee, and back of the knee to the heel with shoes on. A therapist or our free home assessment checks the fit.
- Seat is 20" (51 cm) wide and 18" (46 cm) deep. Seat to floor is 19.5" (50 cm). Back height is 16" (41 cm).
- Open width is 24.5" (62 cm). It folds side to side to 9" (23 cm) wide.
- Length is 38" (97 cm) with the footrests. Overall height is 37" (94 cm). Rear wheels are 12" (30 cm) and flat-free.
- It weighs 45 lb (20.4 kg). The 53 lb carton figure is the box, not the chair.
Safe use
- The chair must not be used without an attendant. Companion wheel locks are on both rear wheels, and both should be on before a transfer.
- It is not an automobile seat.
- Swing-away footrests are included and mount on the frame pegs. The lowest footrest must stay at least 2.5" (6 cm) off the ground.
- Open it by tilting it and pushing the seat rails. The frame is reinforced steel with dual cross braces.
- Desk-length arms are padded, removable and reversible. Upholstery is black nylon with a back pouch.
- This transport chair is not offered as a rental.

Is a seat belt included?
No seat belt comes with the chair, so order one separately if the rider needs it.
Can the rider push it?
No. The rear wheels are 12 inches with no handrims, so a companion pushes this chair.
Does it fit in a car?
It folds side to side to 9 inches wide and weighs 45 lb. It is not a car seat, so the rider moves to a vehicle seat for the trip.

Drive Medical warrants the 20 inch Bariatric Steel Transport Chair (BTR20-B) to be free of defects in materials and workmanship for the lifetime of the original consumer purchaser.
- Frame and durable parts: limited lifetime, original purchaser only.
- Not covered: non-durable parts that wear and need periodic replacement, such as rubber accessories, casters and grips.
- Excludes failure from misuse, negligence or normal wear and tear.
