Description
The Drive Medical Fly-Lite DFL19-BL is an aluminum transport chair with a blue frame and blue plaid upholstery, for an adult up to 300 lb (136 kg) who sits while a companion pushes.
What does it do and how does it work?
- A companion pushes the chair. The rear wheels are 8 inch, so the rider does not self-propel.
- The aluminum frame folds, and the back canes fold down.
- Swing-away footrests are included. They are tool-free and height-adjustable.
- A seat belt is attached. Leave it on the chair.
- Upholstery is plaid nylon, with a carry pocket on the back. A separate cushion is not in the box.
Who is it for, and who should choose something else?
- An adult up to 300 lb (136 kg) who will be pushed in this blue plaid chair.
- Someone who wheels their own chair needs a standard wheelchair.

Will it fit?
- Measure hip width, hip to the back of the knee, and knee to the heel with shoes on. A therapist or our free home assessment can check those measures.
- Seat 19 in (48 cm) wide and 15.5 in (39 cm) deep, 18 in (46 cm) from the floor. Back height is 18 in (46 cm).
- Open width is 22 in (56 cm). Length is 33 in (84 cm) with the footrests. Overall height is 36 in (91 cm).
- Rear wheels are 8 inch. Front casters are 6 inch.
- Folded size is 33 x 9 x 28 in (84 x 23 x 71 cm), back down, footrests still on.
- The chair is 18.9 lb (8.6 kg) with the footrests on, and 16.2 lb (7.3 kg) with them off. We confirm this 19 inch seat before you order.
Using it day to day
- Open the chair by tilting it and pushing the seat rails.
- Pull both locks to fold the back down.
- Lock both aluminum rear-wheel locks before a transfer.
- Keep the footrests' lowest point at least 2.5 in (6.4 cm) off the ground.
What does it work with, and what are its limits?
- This is not a motor-vehicle seat. Transfer to a vehicle seat, and secure the empty chair.
- Cup holder STDS1040S is optional and is not in the box.
- Elevating legrest STDELR-TF is a separate part. It is not included with this chair.
- The limited lifetime warranty covers the original buyer. Casters, grips, and rubber parts are excluded. See the Warranty tab.
- A cushion is separate. It needs a 19 by 15.5 in seat, from our wheelchair cushions.
How does it compare?

Warranty details
Drive Medical warrants the Fly-Lite Aluminum Transport Chair (DFL19-BL) to be free of defects in materials and workmanship for the lifetime of the original consumer purchaser. Drive will repair or replace a defective device at its option.
- Frame and durable parts: limited lifetime, original purchaser only.
- Not covered: non-durable parts that wear and need periodic replacement, such as rubber accessories, casters and grips.
- Excludes failure from misuse, negligence or normal wear and tear.
