The Drive Scout 3 (Drive item SFSCOUT3) is a three-wheel travel scooter that comes apart by hand into five pieces, with the 12 Ah battery pack included.
Who is it for?
A rider to 300 lbs (136 kg) who can lift a 29 lb (13.2 kg) front section and steer a tiller. It is made for in-home use and level outdoor surfaces; grass, gravel and soft ground are a poor match.

How does it drive?
Up to 6.8 km/h (4.25 mph). Range is up to 14.5 km (9 mi) per charge on the 12 Ah batteries, less with a heavier rider, hills, curves or rough ground. The turning radius is 45.5" (116 cm), ground clearance is 2.5" (6.4 cm), and the maximum slope is 6 degrees. It has no lights, so plan on daylight.
Will it fit your home and car?
It is 42.5" (108 cm) long, 20.5" (52 cm) wide and 34" (86 cm) high, and weighs 85 lb (38.6 kg) with batteries.
The five pieces are the seat, basket, battery pack, front frame and rear frame; the front frame is the heaviest at 29 lb. Take it apart with no tools and lift it by the frame. It is not a seat in a motor vehicle.
Batteries, charging and care
Two 12 V 12 Ah sealed lead-acid batteries sit in one 20 lb (9.1 kg) quick-connect pack, included. The 2 amp off-board charger is included and plugs into the pack; charge it after each day of use and never run it flat. Keep it out of rain, snow and salt. We replace worn batteries.
Seat, tiller and controls
The stadium seat is 16.5" x 16" (42 x 41 cm), swivels in 45 degree steps and has a fold-down backrest. Armrests adjust for width and angle. The delta tiller angle is set by a knob, with a key switch, speed dial, battery gauge, horn and throttle.
Colours
Red and blue snap-on panels are both included, on a dark grey body with black wheel rims.

How does it compare?
The Go-Go Sport 3-wheel has a 325 lbs limit and more range, at a heavier 122 lb. The ZooMe Auto-Flex folds by key fob and lifts as one 60 lb piece.
Frequently asked questions
Can I lift it into a trunk?
The front section is 29 lb (13.2 kg), the battery pack 20 lb and the seat 16 lb. Take the pieces out separately.
Can I drive it after dark?
Not as sold. There is no headlight, so plan on daylight or add your own lighting.
Why will it not move?
Check the key, the battery gauge and the freewheel lever, and look at the flashing light on the console, which reports the fault by code. Call us if it stays stopped.
Can I ride it on Toronto sidewalks?
Ontario treats scooter riders as pedestrians; municipalities set bylaws, and Toronto allows mobility devices on sidewalks. It is not for roads or highways.
