The Span Fire Retardant Soft Skin sleeve, part SP759-000, is the tubular replacement sleeve for a 72 in (183 cm) Geo-Matt foam overlay.
What does it do and how does it work?
It is the fluid barrier that goes over the foam; the foam underneath does the pressure relief.
- The sleeve is a tough, flexible Soft Skin cover made to protect the overlay from fluid.
- This is the tubular shape. The fitted fire-retardant sleeve is a separate part, 50960-563.
- It is 72 in (183 cm) long and fits the standard 33 in (84 cm) wide, 3.5 in (9 cm) high Geo-Matt overlay.
- It is fire retardant.
Who is it for, and who should choose something else?
Buy it when the overlay foam is sound but the sleeve is torn, stained or no longer keeping fluid out.
- Choose the fitted sleeve if your overlay takes the fitted shape.
- Choose a complete overlay or mattress if the foam is also worn.
- Choose the vinyl and nylon zippered cover if you want a side zip.
Will it fit?
It fits a 72 in (183 cm) Geo-Matt overlay, not an 80 in (203 cm) one.
- The standard overlay is 33 in (84 cm) wide and 3.5 in (9 cm) high, with a 250 lb (113 kg) weight limit.
- Measure the overlay length before ordering.
Using it day to day
Slide the sleeve over the overlay and smooth it flat.
- Wipe up spills promptly, and replace the sleeve if it is cut or torn; fluid then reaches the foam.
- It is not a single-use sleeve, and it is not sterile.

How does it compare?
The fitted fire-retardant sleeve is the same 72 in length in the fitted shape. The vinyl and nylon zippered cover has a side zip and elastic bands. The Geo-Matt overlay is the foam surface underneath.
