The Invacare Matrx Elite TR Backrest is a wheelchair back from Invacare's Matrx Seating line, made by Motion Concepts, for manual or power wheelchairs used in tilt-only or tilt/recline seating.

Who is it for?
- The Matrx Elite TR Backrest suits a wheelchair user up to 300 lbs (136 kg) whose prescription calls for a foam back with a mild 3 inch contour on a chair that tilts, or tilts and reclines.
- Choose the right back in a seating assessment with an occupational therapist or physiotherapist.
Will it fit?
- Sizes: 15, 16, 17, 18, 19 or 20 in wide by 16, 18 or 20 in high. The part number is PBE plus width and height plus TR, so PBE1616-TR is 16 by 16 in.
- Back canes: 3/4 to 1 in (19 to 25 mm) outside diameter; the hardware fits canes up to 1 in wider or 1 in narrower than the back.
- The back is one contour depth at every size.
How does it work?
- The Matrx Elite TR is an aluminium shell padded with two foam layers: firm HR foam shaped into the 3 inch contour, with an extra layer of SuperSoft HR foam on top for immersion and comfort; an adjustable lumbo-sacral support is included.
- It mounts on the wheelchair's back canes with Invacare's Easy Set hardware, which is removable and adjusted with the person seated; depth travels 4 in (102 mm) and angle adjusts 20 degrees each way.
- Option hardware: Fixed hardware (FSSH), Extended Range hardware (ERMH) and Split hardware (SMH) are available at the time of order; Fixed hardware must be used for power seating. Laterals and a headrest adapter are ordered separately.
What are the care limits?
- The Meshtex cover is wiped clean rather than machine washed: wipe the knitted side with a damp cloth, remove soiling such as food or body fluids, and spot-clean with mild soap and water; no alcohol, bleach or phenols.
- The warranty is 2 years on materials and workmanship for the original purchaser; the cover is excluded.
How does it compare?
- The Matrx Elite Deep Backrest has a 6-inch contour.
- The Matrx MAC Backrest has an adjustable contour with dual-layer foam.
- The Matrx E2 3 inch contour is a rigid back with the same 3 in depth for other chairs.
