Who is it for?
- The J2 is a skin protection and stability cushion, and the standard J2 is the version built for a shallower, flatter seat than the Deep Contour.
- The cushion is rated for the user and the chair in a seating assessment; the rating depends on the selected width, so confirm it with us on the quote.
- Choose the right cushion in a seating assessment with an occupational therapist or physiotherapist.
Will it fit?
- Sunrise's fit rule for the J2 is to match the cushion width to the width of your wheelchair, and to keep the cushion length within 1 in to 2 in (2.5 cm to 5 cm) of the back of your knees.
- Sizes: 12 standard sizes, 14 x 16 to 24 x 20 in, in widths of 14, 15.5, 17, 18, 20 and 24 in and depths of 16, 17, 18 and 20 in. Each cushion measures about 0.5 in under its nominal size over the covers.
How does it work?
- A pre-contoured closed cell foam base carries a JAY Flow fluid tripad, held by hook and loop strips; the fluid conforms under the seat bones and the foam base gives the cushion its shape.
- Sit on the cushion without the cover for two minutes, transfer off, and press the fluid where your seat bones and tailbone were: there should be at least 1/2 in (1 cm) of fluid before you feel the foam base.
What are the care limits?
- Remove the cover, turn it inside out and machine wash it warm; drip or tumble dry low, with no ironing, dry cleaning or bleach.
- Wipe the foam base with a damp cloth, without soap, and never submerge it; let it air dry completely before reassembling. The fluid pad is wiped, not washed.
- The warranty is 24 months on the cushion and 6 months on the removable cover; the fluid pad is replaced free during the warranty if a clinician finds the volume wrong.

Does the fluid pad need maintenance?
The JAY Flow fluid pad is zero maintenance day to day: wipe it, do not submerge it, and check it monthly for bottoming out.
How thick is the J2, and will it change my seat height?
The standard J2 is 2.5 in (64 mm) thick, and it weighs 5.5 lbs (2.5 kg) at 16 x 16 in.
Will the JAY J2 cushion fit my wheelchair?

Warranty details
Sunrise Medical warrants the JAY J2 cushion to be free from defects in materials and workmanship for 24 months from the date of purchase, under normal use.
- Cushion: 24 months. Sunrise Medical repairs or replaces it at its option, without charge.
- Removable cover: 6 months.
- Excludes punctures, tears and burns.
- JAY Flow fluid pad: replaced free during the warranty when a clinician or authorized supplier finds the fluid volume wrong for the original purchaser.
- Claims and repairs go through the nearest authorized Sunrise Medical supplier.
