Description
The Jay Classic anterior trunk support (dynamic ATS8107 and ATS8100 to ATS8104S, structured ATS8300 to ATS8304S) is one broad chest panel for someone who needs maximum stability.
What does it do and how does it work?
One neoprene panel spreads support across the chest and closes with a side-release buckle.
- Dynamic parts give with high tone or involuntary movement.
- Structured parts hold a set chest position when posture slips through the day.
- It is not a centre opening, and it is not offered as a JAY Your Way modification.
Who is it for, and who should choose something else?
It is for someone who needs a continuous chest panel rather than a pad that opens down the middle.
- Choose the centre-opening buckle when transfers need the chest to open at the centre.
- Choose the contour support when you want less contact area on the chest.
- Choose the backpack style when the goal is shoulder retraction rather than a broad panel.
Will it fit?
Width runs across the chest. Depth runs up and down the pad.
- Early intervention, dynamic ATS8107: 6.5 by 9.75 in (16.5 by 24.8 cm). No structured mate.
- Extra small, ATS8100 or ATS8300: 7.5 by 12.5 in (19.1 by 31.8 cm).
- Small, ATS8101S or ATS8301S: 8.5 by 15 in (21.6 by 38.1 cm).
- Medium, ATS8102S or ATS8302S: 9.5 by 19 in (24.1 by 48.3 cm).
- Large, ATS8103S or ATS8303S: 10.5 by 22.5 in (26.7 by 57.2 cm).
- Extra large, ATS8104S or ATS8304S: 11.5 by 25.5 in (29.2 by 64.8 cm).

Using it day to day
Fasten the side-release buckle after the transfer, at the fit the seating specialist set.
- Dynamic and structured are different part numbers. One support does not switch.
- Early intervention is dynamic only, ATS8107.
What does it work with, and what are its limits?
It straps to the wheelchair back it was fitted to. The chair, cushion, and back are separate.
- It positions the trunk. It is not a vehicle seatbelt. In a vehicle, use it only if it carries the ISO 16840-4 marking.
- The straps have to reach that back. Not every back accepts them.
- No user weight is set for the support alone. The therapist matches it to the person.
Which version should I choose?
Pick dynamic or structured first, then the size in the chart. Early intervention is dynamic ATS8107 only. Structured starts at extra small ATS8300.
How does it compare?
- Jay Contour: less chest contact than the classic panel, dynamic or structured.
- Jay centre-opening buckle: two pads that open at a centre buckle for transfers.
- Jay Backpack Style: shoulder retraction, in a 12 in or 18 in pad.
