Description
The Leckey Squiggles+ Stander is a 3-in-1 standing frame for a small child, positioning them near to the ground for interaction at eye level. It covers prone, upright and supine standing in one size, with up to 60 degrees of hip abduction.
What does it do and how does it work?
- Positions: prone, upright and supine, with the tray angled 30 degrees prone or 40 degrees supine.
- Abduction: up to 60 degrees bilaterally; the hip laterals shift with the leg as the hips open.
- Knee supports: wrap-around pads that can rotate for extra lateral support.
- Footplates: individual plates for a leg length difference, from 10 degrees plantarflexion to 10 degrees dorsiflexion.
- Gauge and handle: a hip abduction gauge repeats a setting, and the push handle lowers for prone use.
Who is it for, and who should choose something else?
It suits a child aged about 1 to 5, up to 48.4 lbs (22 kg), working on supported standing at home or in the classroom.
- A child over 43.5 in (1110 mm): move to a larger frame such as the Leckey Mygo Stander or the Leckey Horizon.
- A seat rather than a stander: the Leckey Squiggles Seating System matches the same age group.
- Independent walking: this is a standing frame, not a mobility device.
Will it fit?
- One size: user height 28.5 to 43.5 in (730 to 1110 mm); maximum weight 48.4 lbs (22 kg).
- Chest support 22 to 37 in from the footplate, with 30 degrees of angle either way; width between the laterals 6.3 to 9 in.
- Hip support 15.7 to 25.1 in from the footplate; knee midline 5.5 to 8.4 in.
- Tray height 21.9 to 32.5 in prone and 18.9 to 32.5 in supine.
Using it day to day
- Set the frame to the therapist's assessment, then check the knobs and bolts within the child's reach; they are a choking hazard.
- Lock all castors facing away from the base when the frame is stationary.
- Never leave the child unattended. It is not a mobility device: place the child upright and hold the push handle before moving it.
- Lock off the angle-adjustment foot pedal and carry out the daily checks.
- Clean with the approved cleaner and a moist cloth; follow the manual's cleaning section.
What does it work with, and what are its limits?
- Capacity: 48.4 lbs (22 kg) maximum user weight.
- Warranty: 3 years on Leckey manufactured products and components; terms in the Warranty tab.
- Options: cover pack, padded tray cover, Whitmyer headrests and booties are quoted separately; a conversion kit makes the Squiggles TT.
How does it compare?
- Mygo Stander: a larger 3-in-1 frame.
- Horizon: for a taller child.
- Squiggles Seating System: the matching seat for the same age group.

Frequently asked questions
Can the stander be used on the floor?
It is designed for near-to-the-ground positioning, which is what makes eye-level interaction possible. It still needs clear floor around it.
What does the conversion kit do?
It converts an existing Squiggles+ into the Squiggles TT, with a dynamic base and TT trunk, pelvic and horizontal supports.
Which colours are available?
Red, purple and blue, plus a red vinyl option. Fabric swatches come with the order form.
