Description
The Sunrise Medical Quickie QXi (EIF6) is a folding ultralight wheelchair with an adjustable rear axle, for an adult who self-propels daily. It is on ADP's product list as an Adult Lightweight Performance Manual Wheelchair (WM0000562).
What does it do, and how does it work?
- Aluminum one-piece side frames and a three-arm cross brace that locks inside them; the frame folds side to side.
- The rear axle plate sets centre of gravity 1 to 3 in (2.5 to 7.6 cm), camber 0 or 3 degrees, seat height and wheelbase width.
- Front seat height 12.5 to 19.5 in (31.8 to 49.5 cm); the hemi frame and small casters reach the low settings.
- Standard: seat sling and back upholstery, push handles, push or pull wheel locks, quick-release axles, swing-away footrests and aluminum handrims.
- 28.8 lbs (13.1 kg) overall; 17.6 lbs (8.0 kg) transport weight with the tool-free parts removed.
Who is it for, and who should choose something else?
- Adults up to 300 lbs (136 kg), rider plus items.
- A fixed axle and fewer options: the Quickie QX; it cannot become a QXi later.
- Heavy duty to 350 lbs: the Quickie 2. Mostly pushed: a transport chair. Needs tilt: tilt-in-space wheelchairs.
Will it fit?
- Seat 14 to 20 in wide and deep in 1 in steps; 21 and 22 in Built-4-Me widths exclude EXO upholstery.
- Front seat height 12.5 to 19.5 in (31.8 to 49.5 cm); 12.5 and 13 in need the hemi frame and 60 degree hangers.
- Back height 13 to 20 in (33 to 50.8 cm), measured from the seat sling to the upholstery top.
- Measure hip width, hip to knee and knee to heel in usual shoes, or book a free home assessment.
Using it day to day
- Lift the seat sling to fold the frame side to side; loosen tension-adjustable upholstery first. The back does not fold down.
- Press the axle button to remove a rear wheel; check the wheel lock arm sits at least 1/8 in (3 mm) into the tire.
- Wash with mild soap, dry promptly, and check tire pressure and wheel locks weekly.
What does it work with, and what are its limits?
- The 300 lbs (136 kg) limit covers the rider and items; some options lower it, so we confirm the build.
- Firm, even surfaces only, not sand, loose soil, rocks or the street; water causes rust.
- Casters of at least 5 in handle obstacles up to 1/2 in (13 mm).
- Vehicle use needs the WC19 transit option; otherwise transfer to a seat.
Which version should I choose?
- Standard or hemi frame and the WC19 transit option.
- Quickship 2.0: three black preset builds in 16, 18 or 20 in.
- Armrests, anti-tips, belt and cushion are separate.
How does it compare?
- The Quickie QX has a fixed axle plate and no transit option in Canada.
- The Helio A7 weighs 25.1 lbs (11.4 kg) in its lightest configuration and takes 265 lbs (120 kg).

Can I push it with my feet?
Yes, with the hemi frame, 60 degree hangers and small casters; the front seat drops to 12.5 in (31.8 cm).
Does it come with a cushion and armrests?
No; the cushion, armrests, anti-tips and belt are separate order-form lines.
Can I add power assist?
Yes; the Empulse M90 power assist pairs with it.

Warranty details
Sunrise Medical warrants the QUICKIE QXi folding wheelchair against defects in materials and workmanship, for the first consumer purchase through an authorized Sunrise Medical dealer in Canada or the USA. Not transferable.
- Frame and cross brace: lifetime, for as long as the original purchaser owns the chair.
- Sunrise-made parts and components: 1 year from the first consumer purchase.
- Tension-adjustable backrest (Ballistic and 3DX Vented): 12 months; punctures, tears and burns are not covered.
- Labour to repair, remove or install parts is paid by the owner.
- Not covered: tires and tubes, upholstery, pads and push-handle grips, and damage from neglect, accident, misuse, improper repair, unapproved modification or exceeding the weight limit.
