Description
The Handicare EasySlide (part 2010) is a short polyester sliding mat for turning in bed, moving up the bed, or a short shift to a wheelchair or toilet.
What does it do and how does it work?
It is a padded tube with a sliding face inside, so the person can move without a lift.
- The outside is padded polyester. The inside is ULF (ultra low friction). The load is 661 lbs (300 kg).
- Place it under one buttock or one shoulder, and shift the person's weight onto it. Pull the lower end to take it out.
- Keep the gap between surfaces to 2 in (5 cm) or less, and lock the wheels.
Who is it for, and who should choose something else?
It is for a short move in bed or onto a chair.
- A person who can help with the turn may use it alone, or with a caregiver.
- It is not a hoist sling. A lift needs a sling from full-body slings and a lift from patient lifts.
- Microfiber part 2020 is the same size. The wider short mat and the disposable rolls are different items.
Will it fit?
This piece is 19.7 in long by 23.6 in wide (50 cm by 60 cm).
- Part 2010 covers a hip or a shoulder, not the whole body.
- We confirm you want this 19.7 by 23.6 in polyester piece, not a longer mat, before you order.
Using it day to day
Set it under one hip or one shoulder, then move.
- Under the shoulders, it helps move the person up the bed. Under the hips, it helps a sideways move.
- Take it out when the move is finished. Do not leave the person at the edge of the bed.
- Machine wash at 140 to 176 F (60 to 80 C). No fabric softener, and avoid tumble drying.
- After washing, check the seams and the sliding face. Discard the mat if the cloth is worn or faded.
- With normal use it is expected to last up to 10 years.
What does it work with, and what are its limits?
It works on a bed, a wheelchair, or a toilet. It does not clip to a lift.
- Stay inside 661 lbs (300 kg). An EasyGlide can be used with it for a wheelchair move.
- Protective cover 2051 and disposable cover 2055 fit this size, and both are separate.
How does it compare?
Choose this mat when the slide should come out as soon as the move is done.
- The Savaria in-situ sheet stays on the bed between moves.
- The ErgoSlide 2100 is a long nylon tube with handles, not a padded short mat.
- The Hoyer repositioning sling clips to a passive lift.
Frequently asked questions
Can I leave the mat under the person?
No. Take it out when the move is finished, and do not leave the person at the edge of the bed.
Is this a lift sling?
No. It slides under the hip or shoulder. It does not clip to a hoist. A lift needs its own sling.

No. You get the polyester mat only. Cover 2051, disposable cover 2055, and microfiber part 2020 are separate.
How do I wash it?
Machine wash at 140 to 176 F (60 to 80 C), with no fabric softener, and avoid tumble drying.
