The Rotec VersaTech 600 ULB is a med-surg bed. See long term care beds.
Who is it for?
- A patient up to 500 lbs (227 kg) in a hospital, a care home or a staffed home.
- Safe working load is 600 lbs (272 kg), including the mattress, rails and accessories.
- A patient over 500 lbs needs a bariatric bed instead.
Will it fit the room?
- The platform is 34 3/4 in (88 cm) wide, and 40 1/4 in (102 cm) outside with the boards.
- Measure every doorway against 40 1/4 in. Platform length is 80, 84 or 88 in.
- Overall length is 93 1/8 in at 80 in, and 101 1/8 in at 88 in.
- The lowest position is 8 in (21 cm); use the foot panel to pass the 14 in (35.5 cm) stop.
- The high position is 32 in (81 cm), floor to the platform, with no mattress on it.
Which mattress and rails are safe on it?
- Use a 35 in (89 cm) wide mattress, 5 to 6 in thick, as long as the platform. None is included.
- A mattress that is too narrow or too thin leaves a gap at the rail, which is where entrapment happens.
- Two pairs of composite half rails are fitted.
- A care team decides whether rails are used. The low platform only shortens the distance to the floor.

What happens if the power goes out?
A 2.85 Ah lithium battery gives short backup power. The scale does not run on battery, and the battery is replaced every 3 years.
Can staff roll this bed down a corridor?
Yes, on 5 in casters, but it weighs 539 lbs (245 kg) without accessories. Plan on a crew, not a one-person move.
Is the scale included?
Yes. The scale and three-zone exit detection are standard, while a mattress, trapeze and trolley are not.
How do I reach the lowest height?
The hand control stops the bed at 14 in (35.5 cm). Use the foot panel, wait for the beeps, then confirm to go lower.

Rotec warrants the VersaTech Med-Surg 600 ULB+ bed to the original purchaser from the date of purchase.
- Frame: 10 years.
- Motors and electronic components: 2 years.
- Manufacturing defects and accessories: 1 year.
- Replaced parts carry only the rest of the original warranty.
- Excludes negligence or improper use, modifications, and accessories or replacement parts not authorized by Rotec. Proof of annual preventive maintenance may be requested.
