What does it do and how does it work?

• A ventilated gel-infused memory foam comfort layer sits over a Velva core and high-density polyurethane support.
• The firm feel has minimal sink; Orthex describes it as typically suited to back or stomach sleepers.
• Ultra-firm high-density polyurethane foam reinforces the edges.
• The cover is a breathable bamboo and polyester knit that is machine washable.

Who is it for, and who should choose something else?

• A person up to 650 lbs (295 kg) who wants a firm double mattress for a home bed.
• A back or stomach sleeper who wants minimal sink.
• A side sleeper may prefer the semi-firm feel; the Twin XL medium shows that build in a smaller size.
• Someone who needs a hospital bed surface with rails should choose a medical foam mattress instead.

Will it fit?

• Measure the bed frame: the mattress is 54 in (137 cm) wide, 74 in (188 cm) long and 10 in (25 cm) high.
• It needs a uniformly firm base; a soft or sagging foundation is not suitable.
• The 650 lbs (295 kg) rating is the mattress limit; the bed frame's own safe working load applies if it is lower.
• If the bed has rails, recheck the gap at the 10 in height; Health Canada recommends gaps under 120 mm (4 3/4 in) within and under the rail, and under 60 mm (2 3/8 in) at the rail ends. See bed rails.

Using it day to day

• Unpack it on the base and allow 2 to 4 weeks for it to settle to its full feel.
• Rotate it head to toe about every 3 months.
• Machine wash the cover, or spot clean a stain; Orthex also allows the cover to be removed for dry cleaning.

• It is a home foam mattress, not a powered surface: no pump, alternating pressure or low air loss.
• The firm build is the least forgiving of the two Sensia Bamboo feels; the semi-firm is the softer choice.
