The Handicare EasyBelt 6014 is the medium classic support belt for sit-to-stand transfers, seated transfers and walking. It has nine fixed handles.
What does it do and how does it work?
- Nine fixed handles, vertical and horizontal, give the caregiver a grip at the back and sides.
- A quick-connect buckle and tightening strap close and adjust it below the waist.
- The outer is nylon; the inner is moisture-repellent PU-coated nylon with an anti-slip surface.
- It is 47.2 in (1200 mm) long, 4.7 in (120 mm) wide and rated 375 lbs (170 kg).
Who is it for, and who should choose something else?
- For a person who can stand with help and needs a secure hold during a transfer or walking.
- For a softer inner and sliding handles, choose the FlexiBelt hug.
Will it fit?
- The medium fits a waist of 27.5-47.2 in (700-1200 mm); measure over light clothing below the waist.
- Sizes are XS 6012, small 6013, medium 6014 and large 6015; 6014 is the medium.
Using it day to day
- Place it below the waist, fasten the buckle and tighten the strap.
- One caregiver can work alone; two take the cross-grips, one on each side.
- Release the clasp, loosen the straps and lift the belt away.
- Check seams, fabric and buckles before each use; discard at the first sign of wear.
- Launder or wipe with disinfectant; no fabric softener, no tumble drying.
What does it work with, and what are its limits?
- It is a transfer aid, not a lifting device, and must not be used with a patient lift.
- Do not exceed the 375 lbs (170 kg) safe working load.
- SupportStraps can add a leg harness; EasySlide or EasyGlide can help a seated transfer.
How does it compare?
The FlexiBelt hug has a softer polyester velvet inner and sliding handles. The Drive RTL6292 gait belt is a reusable belt with a simple buckle. For a belt that is thrown away after use, see the DisposableBelt 6054.

Is 6014 the hug model?
No. The hug medium is 6004; 6014 is the classic belt.
Can I use it with a patient lift?
No. It is not a lifting device; use a sling rated for the lift and the person.
How do I clean it?
