The Drive 15303LW is a 54 inch full-electric bariatric bed, in our bariatric beds.
Who is it for?
- An adult who needs the widest deck, not a 36 inch frame (15033, 15235, 15005LP or 15006LP).
- Safe working load is 1000 lbs (453 kg), including the occupant and any accessories.
- Not the 48 inch 15302LW if a narrower room is enough.
Will it fit the room?
- Sleep deck: 54 by 80 inches; measure the overall footprint before delivery.
- Ground clearance is 16 to 24 inches under the frame, not deck or sleep height.
- Three cartons, 312 lbs, assembled in the room by one person, with no tools.
- At 54 inches it needs more floor than the 48 inch bed. The doorway takes the cartons, not the finished bed.
Which mattress and rails are safe on it?
- Use a 54 by 80 inch mattress at least 5.5 inches thick. A narrower mattress leaves side gaps, where entrapment happens.
- Drive 15312 is 6.5 inches thick and the Med Aire Plus 54 is 10. Drive publishes no maximum thickness, so check the rail gap.
- Rails: half rail 15021BV-LW, one pair, also for the 42 and 48 inch beds. Not homecare rail 15201BV.

Frequently asked questions
What happens in a power cut?
The bed stays put unless you add the separate 15302LWB battery pack, and there is no crank. The pack fits the 48 and 54 inch beds only.
What is not in the cartons?
No mattress, rails or battery pack. Add a 54 by 80 inch mattress, and rails 15021BV-LW only if the care team agrees.

Warranty details
Drive Medical warrants the full electric lightweight bariatric bed, 54 inch (15303LW), to the original purchaser. During the warranty period, Drive repairs or replaces defective items at its option at no charge.
- Welds and frame: lifetime.
- Motor and hand control: 5 years.
- All other parts and components: 1 year.
- Drive may ask for broken parts back for evaluation before a credit is issued; parts shipped next day air are at the customer's expense.
- Void if parts or accessories other than authorized Drive Medical replacements are used.
