Description
An outdoor stairlift for a front porch, back deck or garden steps with one straight run, from the Access BDD HomeGlide series.
Who is the HomeGlide Outdoor for?
- A rider who can sit, use a joystick and step off at the top and bottom.
- One straight run of outside steps. For stairs indoors, see the indoor HomeGlide.
- Someone who stays in a wheelchair needs a porch lift instead.
What about Ontario winters?
The HomeGlide Outdoor is certified for -15 °C to 50 °C, so the coldest Ontario days fall outside that range. We talk through where it goes and how it is covered.
- A cover keeps rain, dust and sun off the lift while it is parked.
- The rail, gear rack and hardware are made to resist corrosion.
- Its two 9 Ah batteries are larger than the 7 Ah pair in the indoor model.
Will it fit your steps?
- Angle: up to 53 degrees. The 350 lb (160 kg) rating holds up to 45 degrees; on steeper steps it is lower, and we confirm it for your steps.
- We measure the steps at a free stairlift measure and give you a written price.
How do you get on and off?
- At the landing, a manual lever swivels the seat 70 degrees so you face the landing, not the steps.
- A key lock keeps others from using it; remote controls inside the house call it and send it back.
- An emergency stop button, an automatic stop sensor and a retractable seatbelt.
The outdoor model is certified to CSA B355:2024 for Canada, ASME A18.1-2023 for the United States and EN 81-40:2020 for Europe.
How does it compare?
- Handicare 1000: an outdoor package for moderate climates and an optional higher capacity.
- All our outdoor stairlifts, side by side.
Frequently asked questions
Does it keep working in a power outage?
Yes. Its two batteries carry it through an outage; park it at its charging point once the power is back.
Should the cover stay on between rides?
Use it whenever the lift is parked outside. The cover keeps rain, dust and sunlight off the seat and controls.
Do you measure the steps before quoting?
Yes. We measure your outside steps at a free home visit in the GTA, check where the lift will park and charge, then give you a written quote.
