Made for your stairs

A twin rail that follows your turns

Savaria makes the 4000 rail for your staircase after we measure it, so it follows its turns. The rail is light grey as standard, or black or brown.

  • Parking at 90 or 180 degrees can move the chair off the stairs at either end
  • A power hinge can fold the rail end away from a door

How much does a Handicare 4000 cost?

It depends on the lift, the rail, the seat and options, and the installation. We measure for free and give you a written quote. Nothing is ordered until you approve it.

How we price

A door opens at the foot of our stairs. Can we still have one?

Yes, usually: a power hinge can fold the rail end away from a door, and parking at 90 or 180 degrees can move the chair off the stairs.

See the rail, the hinge and parking

Does the 4000 work in a power cut?

Yes, for several trips, Savaria says. It charges at stations at the top and bottom of the rail.

How much weight can the 4000 carry?

Savaria rates it 300 lb (136 kg), or 350 lb (159 kg) as an option.

How long does it take to install?

We confirm the dates in your written quote, once the lift and rail are chosen.

Which seats can the 4000 have?

Simplicity, Style, Smart, Perch or Outdoor. We choose it with the rider at the assessment.
