Description
The Drive Bariatric Aluminum Folding Walker with 5 in Wheels, Drive item 10220-1WW, is a two-button folding walker with a wider, deeper frame for a heavier user. It has two fixed 5 in (127 mm) front wheels and a glide tip on each back leg.
Who is this bariatric walker for?
- For a heavier user who walks with a walker and does not need to sit down.
- Choose the wheel-free Drive bariatric walker 10220-1 if you want the frame to stay put instead of rolling.
- Choose a bariatric rollator if you need a seat and hand brakes; see heavy-duty rollators.
Will it fit?
- One adult size, with the handles set anywhere from 32 to 39 in (81 to 99 cm).
- At 27 in (69 cm) across, it needs a clear doorway wider than that. Measure the narrowest opening in the home and check the bathroom door, which is often the tightest.
- It weighs 11 lb (5 kg).
- Tell us the user's weight when you order so we can confirm the limit for this walker in writing.
How do you walk with it?
- Open the frame until both sides lock, then step inside it and keep it close.
- The front wheels roll over thresholds and mats; the rear glide tips slide along the floor instead of catching.
- Each button works under a finger, a palm or the side of a hand.
- Do not push one side ahead while the other is planted; lift the frame to move it.
- Use it on firm, level ground; keep it off stairs, ice and deep snow.
How does the fold work?
- Each side has its own button and folds on its own, so one half can be closed for a narrow space.
- Press both buttons to fold the frame for a car boot or a cupboard.
- Check that both sides are locked before you put weight on the handles.
What is included, and what wears?
- One walker, one to a carton, with vinyl-contoured grips, two front wheels and a glide tip on each back leg. No tray, basket or pouch is included.
- The grips, wheels and glide tips wear with use. Check them for flattening, hardening or cracks and replace a worn part before it slips.
- Ask us before ordering a spare wheel or glide tip; we will confirm it fits.
- A limited lifetime warranty covers the original purchaser; grips, casters and rubber parts are excluded.
How does it compare?
- The Drive Deluxe Folding Walker is narrower at 24 in and lighter at 7.5 lb.
- The Drive two-wheeled walker with seat adds a padded seat and backrest.

Frequently asked questions
Will it fit through a standard doorway?
The walker is 27 in (69 cm) wide, so the doorway has to be wider than that. Measure the narrowest clear opening, including the bathroom door.
How does the walker fold?
Press the button on one side and that side folds; the button on the other side folds the other side. Lock both sides before you lean on the handles.
Can I use it outdoors?
Yes, on firm ground such as pavement, a driveway or a packed path. Small front wheels and glide tips do not suit grass, gravel, ice or snow.
