Description
The Evolution Xpresso Tacoma Rollator is Evolution Technologies' centre-folding four-wheel rollator, in Mini, Regular and Tall, with cable-free brakes, an 18 in seat and 8 in polyurethane tyres.
What does it do and how does it work?
- The patented X frame folds flat in one motion, with the basket still attached.
- The cable-free brake levers push down until they click to park, so no cable catches on doorways or furniture.
- The seat is a centre-folding waterproof polyurethane cushion, 18 in wide, in three heights.
- A foldable, removable basket comes with it.
- Four 8 in (203 mm) polyurethane tyres suit indoor and outdoor use.
- It weighs 18 lb (8.2 kg) without the basket, back strap or accessories, and carries 350 lb (159 kg) in every size.
Who is it for, and who should choose something else?
- It suits someone who wants one rollator for the house and the street, with a seat to rest on and a basket for a bag.
- You can sit to rest, but no one can push you while seated: it is not a transport chair.
Will it fit?
- The size band runs to 5 ft 4 in for Mini, 5 ft 4 in to 5 ft 11 in for Regular, and over 5 ft 11 in for Tall.
- Seat heights are 18 in (457 mm), 21 in (533 mm) and 24 in (610 mm); handles run 30.5-33.5, 30.5-34.5 and 33.5-40 in.
- Every size is 22.5 in (572 mm) wide and 26 in (660 mm) long; set the handles at wrist height.
- Measure the narrowest doorway; our free home assessment checks it with you.
Using it day to day
- Open the frame until it locks, and keep it level while you fold it.
- Push the brake levers down until they click to park, and test the brakes and wheel locks before each walk.
- Check the brakes and wheels monthly, clean with mild soap and keep oil off the brakes.
- Take it indoors in ice and snow, and never use it on stairs or an escalator.
What does it work with, and what are its limits?
- The capacity is 350 lb (159 kg) on every size, for the person using it.
- A cup holder, cane holder, curb climber, slow-down brakes, deluxe back strap pad, oxygen tank holder, wire basket, eyeglass holder and phone holder are optional.
- The warranty covers the frame and metal for life, the brake system and polyurethane seat for five years, and the other components for one year.
How does it compare?
- The Xpresso Lite is a lighter four-wheel rollator at 15 lb.
- The Evolution Trillium Two is another Evolution four-wheel rollator.
