Description
Savaria's straight stairlift for one flight indoors, with an outdoor package for steps outside in moderate climates.
Who is the K2 for?
- A rider who can sit and step off at each landing of one straight flight; stairs that turn need a curved stairlift.
- A rider over the limits below needs the Savaria K2 Plus, rated 400 lb (181 kg) with its Plus seat.
- Someone who cannot leave a wheelchair should ask about a stair-climbing wheelchair.
When does the K2 carry 350 lb, and when 300 lb?
The K2 is rated 350 lb (159 kg). It drops to 300 lb (136 kg) with the manual flip-up rail, with rail extension brackets, or on stairs steeper than 45 degrees.
Will it fit your stairs?
- Angle 30 to 55 degrees, and up to 32 ft (9.75 m) of travel.
- With the standard L seat, the folded lift takes up 10 3/4 in (27.3 cm) of the stair width.
- A door at the bottom: a rail end that you flip up by hand. Near the top landing: rail extension brackets shorten how far the rail reaches.
- It goes on either side of the stairs. We measure at a free stairlift measure and give you a written price.
Seats, controls and charging
- L seat standard, V seat optional; both swivel and lock at the landing, and the arms adjust in width.
- Armrest toggle, two infrared remotes, LED status lights, an obstacle sensor and a retractable seat belt.
- The 24 V battery recharges at either end of the stairs and makes several trips in a power failure; charging along the whole rail is optional.
Can the K2 go outside?
Yes, with the outdoor package for moderate climates: a stainless steel rack and legs, zinc hardware, and a water-repellent seat and cover. We check your steps for it at the measure.
How does it compare?
- Handicare 1100: a fully enclosed rail with no gear rack, indoors only.
- Access BDD HomeGlide: a slim rail with an optional automatic folding rail.
- All our straight stairlifts.
Frequently asked questions
Does the K2 need special wiring?
No. Its battery charges from an ordinary household outlet through the two charging points, one at each end of the rail.
What should I do if the K2 stops?
Check the key switch is on, nothing blocks the rail and the chair was parked to charge. Then call us with what the LED lights show.
Which seat suits me, the L or the V?
The standard L seat folds slimmest. The optional V seat has a rounder back and curved arms; tell us what the rider finds comfortable.
