I would have given 5 star but did not find comparative chart between standard, slide track and easy ….
Description
The Handicare 1100 carries a seated rider on a straight indoor staircase. Its rail and options are chosen after a site measure.
Who does the 1100 suit?
- A person able to transfer onto a seat on a straight indoor stair. A turning staircase needs a made-to-measure Handicare Freecurve.
- The rated load is 310 lb (140 kg), reduced to 287 lb (130 kg) when the stair incline exceeds 46 degrees.
Will it fit the stairs?
- The lift fits a 30 to 50 degree incline, travels up to 23 ft (7 m), sits 12.6 in (320 mm) from the wall when folded, and is 21 in (530 mm) deep with the seat open.
- A site measure checks stair width, door swing and safe landing space. An optional slide track or hinge can clear a doorway where the layout permits; neither is standard.
How does it work and charge?
The armrest control drives the lift, while two call/send remotes move it empty. The seat, arms and footrest fold, and a belt, keyed switch, locking swivel and obstruction sensor are part of the build.
The lift charges continuously along the rail and runs on its batteries during a power cut. Keep it powered; a technician must match any replacement battery set to the installed unit.
How are measuring and installation handled?
We measure the staircase free and give you a written price before you decide: see the stairlift assessment. Our technicians handle the whole installation, with the rail fixed to the stair treads.
What about service and warranty?
Savaria's warranty covers parts for 24 months and the motor and gearbox for 10 years in an indoor installation. Stairlifts bought from us include two free service calls during the labour warranty period; after those, travel and visit fees apply. Leaving the lift off its charging point until the batteries fail is not covered. See stairlift service.
What else should I compare?
The Handicare 1000 has different track and options. Compare both under straight stairlifts after the staircase is measured.
Frequently asked questions
Should I switch the lift off when it is not in use?
No. Leave it powered between trips: it charges continuously along the rail, and the batteries carry the lift through an outage.
Does the rail move away from a doorway?
An optional slide track or hinge can be specified after measuring. Neither is assumed in the base configuration.
Can the 1100 be installed outdoors?
No. This model is for residential indoor use.
What maintenance does it need?
Keep the rail clear and leave the lift on its charging point. Our technicians service and repair stairlifts across Toronto and the GTA.
