Description
A straight-flight lift from Access BDD, a TK Elevator company, for homes with a narrow staircase or a doorway near the bottom step.
Who is the HomeGlide for?
- A rider who can sit, use a joystick and step off at each landing.
- One straight flight with no turn or middle landing; stairs that turn need a curved stairlift.
- A rider above the limits below needs a higher-capacity lift, such as the Savaria K2 Plus.
- Someone who cannot move from a wheelchair to a seat should ask about a stair-climbing wheelchair.
Will it fit your stairs?
- Width: straight stairs as narrow as 29 in (740 mm).
- Angle: 28 to 53 degrees.
- A door or hallway close to the bottom step: the optional automatic folding rail lifts the rail end out of the way.
- The rail mounts on the stair treads rather than the wall.
- We measure your stairs at a free stairlift measure and give you a written price.
How much weight can it carry on steep stairs?
The HomeGlide is rated 350 lb (160 kg) on stairs up to 45 degrees. On steeper stairs, and with the folding rail hinge, the rating is lower, so we confirm the figure for your stairs and rider at the measure.
HomeGlide or HomeGlide Extra?
- HomeGlide: a manual swivel seat, the armrest joystick and a seatbelt with a sensor.
- HomeGlide Extra: a powered swivel seat, a powered footrest linked to it, a key lock and four seat heights, for a rider who finds turning the seat hard.
- Either version can add the folding rail and a call device.
Both versions are certified to CSA B355:2024 for Canada, ASME A18.1-2023 for the United States and EN 81-40:2020 for Europe.
How does it compare?
- Handicare 1100: a fully enclosed rail with no gear rack, indoors only.
- Handicare 1000: an optional higher capacity and an outdoor package for moderate climates.
- Help choosing: our HomeGlide guide and straight stairlifts.
Frequently asked questions
Where does the HomeGlide charge?
It charges while parked at its charging point. Park it there after each ride so the batteries are full for the next trip.
Can this lift be used on steps outside?
Not this version. The HomeGlide Outdoor adds corrosion-resistant hardware, larger batteries and a cover.
Do you measure the stairs before quoting?
Yes. We measure your stairs at a free home visit in the GTA, then give you a written quote for the HomeGlide or HomeGlide Extra with the rail length they need.
