Description

A Beka Sina Comfort shower trolley is a wheeled shower bed for a care bathroom. Two carers bring it to the bed and move the resident across with a transfer aid. Beka Hospitec makes it and Savaria Patient Care supplies it in Canada.

Who is a shower trolley for?

Beka rates it for residents with high mobility dependency, mobility groups 4 and 5, who are moved lying down. Your care team's assessment decides whether a trolley, a bath lift or a shower chair suits a resident.

Will it fit your shower room?

It is 29.9 in (760 mm) wide in two lengths, and needs room to roll between bed and shower. The shower mattress empties through a flexible drain hose, so plan where it will drain. Send us the room measurements and we will check the space.

How do you set it up and use it?

Charge the battery, about four hours, before first use. Lock the brakes on the bed and the trolley, move the resident across with a transfer aid, then wheel it to the shower with the rails up.

How safe is it to use?

The maker rates it at 364 lbs (165 kg) safe working load. The manual asks for two carers for every transfer and move, the brakes locked, and the resident never left alone on it, and warns that sitting on the front or rear section can tip it.

How do you clean and care for it?

The padded lying surface lifts off, wipes down and disinfects easily, and the frame is powder coated steel. Castors, mattress, battery and hose are wear parts.

Which lengths and options are there?

EL 160 is 68.5 in (1740 mm) long and EL 200 is 80.3 in (2040 mm), both 29.9 in (760 mm) wide. Height adjustment on both is stepless and electric, and the surface tilts either way. A tiltable head part (for the EL 200 length), a head wedge and a spare battery are options.

How do delivery and service work?

Delivery covers Toronto and the GTA, and we show your carers how the trolley works. Bathroom items cannot be returned once used, under our return policy, and the maker's documents sit on our documents page.

What does the maker's warranty cover?

The maker publishes no warranty period for this trolley. Ask us for the Canadian terms.

How does it compare?

The Niagara bathing system is a fixed tub for a care bathroom, and a bath lift works in an ordinary tub at home. See bathing systems.

Frequently asked questions

How much weight does the Sina Comfort take?

364 lbs (165 kg) safe working load, for both the EL 160 and the EL 200.

Does the trolley need plumbing or wiring?

No fixed plumbing or wiring. It runs on a removable 24 V battery, and the shower mattress empties through its own flexible drain hose.

Which length do we need?

Send us the room measurements and we will advise.
