Description
The Bellavita Dive is a battery bath lift from Drive DeVilbiss Healthcare, item 477400252. It sits on the tub floor on suction cups, lowers you to 2.6" (6.5 cm) above it and lifts you back to the rim. The backrest reclines to 50 degrees.
Who is the Bellavita Dive for?
Someone who can sit and stand with a handhold but cannot lower into a tub safely. If you cannot sit unsupported, ask us about a transfer bench.
Will it fit your bathtub?
It needs a flat tub floor: the base plate is 24" by 12" (61 x 31 cm), held by four suction cups. The maker asks for a clean, dry floor with no non-slip mat. We measure your tub at the free home assessment.
How do you set it up and charge it?
No plumbing and no electrical work: the seat unit drops onto the base plate. The floating hand control carries the battery, and a full charge covers up to six baths.
How safe is it to use?
The maker rates it at 300 lbs (136 kg). When the battery runs low it only moves upward, so you are never left at the bottom of the tub.
How do you clean it and change the covers?
Rinse it after each bath with a cleaner that has no scouring agent; the maker says not to use vinegar-based cleaners. The cover washes at 60 C.
Which sizes and covers are there?
One size only, item 477400252. Spare covers come in white, blue and grey; controls, chargers and suction cups are sold separately.
Funding may help: see who may help pay. Bathroom equipment is bought privately in most cases. See our funding guide or call (905) 798-1853.
How does it compare with the other models?
Both Drive bath lifts we stock lift 300 lbs. The Dive adds the reclining backrest and the lower seat; the Bellavita Auto is the simpler model.
How do delivery and service work?
We deliver across Toronto and the GTA and set the lift up in your tub. Bathroom items cannot be returned once used under our return policy, so measure first.
What does the maker's warranty cover?
Five years on the lift, the hand control and the battery; the covers and suction feet are excluded.
Frequently asked questions
How deep does the Bellavita Dive lower me into the tub?
The seat stops 2.6" (6.5 cm) above the tub floor.
Does it stay plugged in while I bathe?
No. The hand control holds the battery and floats in the water.
What if the battery runs down mid-bath?
It still rises to the rim, but will not go down again until charged.
