Description
The Innovators S133 is a front contoured bolster: it sits in front of the cushion and runs the full width of the wheelchair. The maker pads it and shapes a pommel at the centre with a channel under each leg, which positions and supports the legs and brings the seat width in to the sitter.
What it does
Innovators builds it to adjust seat width and to keep the legs supported at the front of the seat. In its extended form the maker's hip bolster takes on a leg adductor role, and the same padding runs through the front contoured shape.
Size it to the chair
Standard bolsters are 4 5/8 in high at the ends, 4 1/4 in at the centre pommel and 3 in in the leg channels, and 3 in deep. They are made to your wheelchair width, in sizes from 14 to 20 in. Send us the seat width and depth, or book a seating fit, and we confirm the width.
Custom sizes and gel
Anything outside the standard dimensions is a custom build on the maker's S172 code, and Innovators keeps a short turnaround on custom work. Gel is added on request: that order then uses the custom code plus the S126 gel insert. The maker prints no cover material or washing instructions, so ask us and we confirm.

Will the standard width fit my wheelchair?
Standard bolsters are made in widths from 14 to 20 in. Tell us the chair width and depth and we confirm the size with Innovators before ordering.
Does the bolster replace the seat cushion?
No. It goes in front of the cushion, across the full width of the chair, and it is ordered as its own item.
How high does it sit at the front of the seat?
The ends are 4 5/8 in high and the centre pommel 4 1/4 in, with the leg channels 3 in high and the bolster 3 in deep.
Can I order one with gel in it?
Yes. Adding gel turns the order into a custom build: the maker's S172 bolster code plus the S126 gel insert.
Is this the same as the hip bolster?
No. S133 is the front contoured bolster, S134 is the round bolster and S059 is the hip bolster in full or desk length.
