Carex

Carex Hand-Held Shower Spray with On/Off Valve (B215)

The Carex B215 is a hand-held shower spray that replaces the shower head on the wall: unscrew the old head, screw this one on, and the water comes from a 3.5 in spray head on an extra-long hose. An on/off valve in the handle slows the flow to a trickle, so someone seated in a tub or on a bath bench can wet and rinse without reaching for the taps. Carex, a Compass Health Brands company, makes it.

Description

The Carex B215 hand-held shower spray replaces the wall shower head. Unscrew the old head, screw this one on, and the water comes from a 3.5 in head on an extra-long hose.

An on/off valve in the handle slows the flow to a trickle, so someone seated in a tub or on a bath bench can rinse without reaching for the taps. Carex, a Compass Health Brands company, makes the spray.

Who is it for?

It suits a person who washes sitting down, or whose carer washes them: the hose reaches the far end of a tub.

It also fits an ordinary shower arm, so a tenant can fit one without plumbing work. If the person cannot sit safely unaided, start with bath benches and the bathroom safety range.

What comes in the box, and how much water does it use?

One spray head and handle, one reinforced nylon hose with threaded fittings, and the maker's assembly sheet. Carex prints 84 in (2.13 m) for the hose; its table says 80 in.

Flow is 5.7 L/min (1.5 gpm) to 6.8 L/min (1.8 gpm). The head is 3.5 in (8.9 cm) across, with one spray pattern.

How does it fit the shower?

The spray screws onto the shower arm in place of the existing head and needs no tools. Its sheet adds: PTFE tape is not included, do not overtighten, and turn the faucet off when the shower is idle.

How does it compare?

  • Other hand-held shower sprays: some add a diverter, a wall bar or more patterns, for a shared bathroom.
  • Bath benches: the seating this spray is meant to be used with, in a tub or over the tub edge.
  • AquaSense shower spray: a different make we also stock.

Frequently asked questions

Can the spray be turned off at the handle?

Partly. The valve slows the water to a trickle rather than shutting the shower off; the faucet still needs turning off.

Does the hose reach the far end of a tub?

Carex prints 84 in (2.13 m) on the box and lists 80 in in its table. Ask us and we will measure the hose.

Will it fit my shower?

The maker asks for an automatic compensating valve rated 5.7 L/min (1.5 gpm) or less. A free home assessment can check yours.

What warranty comes with it?

Carex gives a limited warranty against defects in materials and workmanship, with no fixed term. We handle the claim.

We deliver across Toronto and the GTA. Bathroom safety items are non-returnable under our return policy, so check the shower arm first; delivery is in our shipping policy.
