Description

Item RTL10304BW is Drive's black and white abstract folding cane. The shaft is extruded aluminum, the height sets with one button, and the sections pack into a bag.

Who it suits

Choose it when a cane in the hand is enough and a seat is not. The maker lists an approximate user height of 5 ft to 6 ft 5 in. Stand in the shoes you walk in and bring the handle to your wrist crease before you lock it.

Setting the height

Press the button, slide the inner tube, and let the button sit in a hole. Turn the locking ring until the joint stops clicking. The specification table prints 33 to 37 in. The feature list on that same sheet prints 30 to 37 in, so try the setting that keeps the elbow softly bent.

Carrying it

Separate the sections and keep the button, the ring, and the tip with the shaft. A loose tote can drop a piece. This page is not the solid black cane and it is not a wood handle. Floral, dot, and camouflage shafts are other item numbers.

Day to day

Wipe the tube with a damp cloth. After rain, dry the button holes so grit does not jam the click. If the tip looks smooth, ask us for a replacement before the cane skids on a hard floor.

Funding may help: see who may help pay. Book a free home assessment to set the height at home, see cane accessories, or browse walking aids. The service team can check a worn tip.

Frequently asked questions

Can I hold it in either hand?

Yes. The handle has no left or right bend, so either hand can take it. If you add a strap later, keep the loop over the wrist that holds the cane.

Why does the shaft click while I walk?

The locking ring is usually loose. Snug it after every height change. A click that remains after that is a reason to stop and let us look at the button.

Is this the cane I can sit on?

No. There is no seat on this shaft. If you need to sit on the cane itself, tell us and we will point you to a different model.

What should I do after a wet walk?

Dry the button and the ring before you put the cane away. Water left in the holes lets grit stick, and the next height change becomes stiff.
