Description
The EZ-ACCESS SUITCASE Singlefold AS, codes SFAS02 to SFAS06, is a 2 to 6 ft home ramp for a wheelchair or scooter.
What does it do and how does it work?
Two aluminium sections fold in half, and the hinge bolts let them come apart for carrying.
- Every length is 29.5 in (75 cm) wide, with an applied slip-resistant tread.
- Folded size is that length by 15 in (38 cm) wide by 4.5 in (11.4 cm) high, with a built-in carrying handle.
- Section weight is 6 to 15 lb (2.7 to 6.8 kg). Two sections make one ramp.
- Capacity is 800 lb (363 kg). The top lip is 3 in (7.6 cm), and the bottom plates adjust to the ground.
Who is it for, and who should choose something else?
- A person at home who uses a wheelchair or scooter and can lift one section.
- Choose another ramp if the device is wider than 29.5 in (75 cm), or if the use is commercial.
Will it fit?
- At 1:12, one inch of ramp for each inch of rise, 2 ft covers a 2 in (5 cm) rise and 6 ft covers a 6 in (15 cm) rise. The device manual sets the steepest slope.
- Measure the device against 29.5 in (75 cm).
- Folded length is the whole ramp, up to 72 in (183 cm). We confirm the length against your rise before you order.
Using it day to day
- It arrives assembled. Set the end marked TOP on a level landing, unfold the tread, pin it with the clevis pins, and use a helper and a lap belt.
- Clear ice, snow, dirt and leaves. Wet tread is slippery. Split the halves only for storage or an empty device, then join them before anyone rides.
What does it work with, and what are its limits?
- Wheelchairs and scooters only, at or under 800 lb (363 kg). Landings must be level and able to hold that load.
- If the 3 in (7.6 cm) top lip cannot overlap the upper landing, do not use the ramp. An extension reaches 9 in (23 cm) and cuts capacity to 500 lb (227 kg).
- The lifetime limited warranty covers parts and components. It does not cover the applied non-skid tape.
Which version should I choose?
- 2 and 3 ft: a curb and one step. 4 to 6 ft: one to three steps and some minivans or SUVs.
How does it compare?
The Signature singlefold has an extruded tread and stays one piece. This ramp has the applied tread and splits into two sections.
The Trifold Advantage folds in three when 72 in (183 cm) is too long to carry. See the portable ramps page, or book a free home assessment.
Frequently asked questions
How does the ramp attach to the step?
For temporary use, drill two 1/4 in holes and drop the clevis pins through the top lip. Semi-permanent anchors are not included.
When can the two halves be used apart?
Only for storage, or for a device with nobody in it. Join the halves before anyone rides.
Where should I store it when it is not set up?
In a cool, dry place. Clear ice, snow and leaves before each use.
