Description
The Ezee Life EZ5RGT is the 5 ft (152.5 cm) multifold ramp with grip tape for a low step or a doorway.
What does it do and how does it work?
- It lies flat while you cross, then folds to half its length and half its width for carrying.
- Open, it measures 60 x 29 x 2 in (152.5 x 74 x 5 cm), 28.8 in (73 cm) between the edges.
- Weight capacity is 600 lb (272 kg), and the ramp itself weighs 30 lb (13.6 kg).
- Folded, it measures 30 x 14.5 x 6.3 in (76 x 37 x 16 cm).
Who is it for, and who should choose something else?
- A household that needs a short ramp for a low step, and can lift 30 lb (13.6 kg).
- Choose the 6 ft ramp when the rise is above about 5 in (12.7 cm) and you want a gentler slope.
- Choose a wider ramp if the chair or scooter, counted at the anti-tippers, is wider than 28.8 in (73 cm).
Will it fit?
- At 1:12, 5 ft covers a 5 in (12.7 cm) rise.
- Ezee Life rates 5 ft for a 10 in (25 cm) rise with a person on it, 15 in (38 cm) empty.
- Measure the device at its widest point against 28.8 in (73 cm).
- Folded length is 30 in (76 cm). We confirm the 5 ft length against your measured rise before you order.
Using it day to day
- Set the 60 in (152.5 cm) ramp flat on the step and the ground.
- Load with the chair facing up the ramp and the front wheels forward, and keep a helper beside it.
- Fold it for carrying, then push the locking pins through the holes so it stays shut.
- Check it before each use, lubricate the hinges, and wash it with water and a mild detergent.
What does it work with, and what are its limits?
- The 8, 10 and 12 ft ramps come with adjustable support legs; the 5 ft ramp does not.
- Never exceed the height limit, leave a ramp unattended, or use it as a scaffold or bridge.
- Grip tape gets slippery when wet, and the ramp should not be modified.
Which version should I choose?
- The 6 ft EZ6RGT adds a foot of length at 35 lb (16 kg). The 8 ft EZ8RGT is the choice for a higher step.
How does it compare?
The 6 ft ramp keeps the same usable width and capacity and covers a higher rise. The 8 ft EZ8RGT weighs 52 lb (23.4 kg) and comes with support legs and a travel bag.
Other lengths are on the portable ramps page, and a free home assessment can measure a rise you are unsure of.
