Description

The Handicare 57-051 is one 75 mm (3.0 in) caster for a Bure walker.

Does 57-051 have a brake?

  • Handicare's parts information is split: a June 2025 Bure chart marks 57-051 as the 75 mm wheel with a brake; a 2022 Bure Space parts list marks it without one and gives 56-387 to the braked wheel.
  • Check the caster on the walker before ordering; the frame code is the one to match.

Which Bure walkers does it fit?

  • Bure Std, Bure S, Bure Low, Bure Rise and Go, Bure Space, Bure DB 2.0 and Bure XL.
  • It is the 75 mm size; a 100 mm or 125 mm wheel needs its own code.
  • A 75 mm directional-lock caster is a different part, code 57-043.
  • It is not the long transfer plate 56-383-DB or the Bure Rise and Go gait trainer.

How does it fit?

  • Replace the whole caster assembly; it bolts to the lower frame with thread locker or a lock nut.
  • The caster is sealed, so do not take it apart.
  • A Bure walker has four casters, and one order is one caster.

Using it day to day

  • Check that the caster rolls easily and the tread is not damaged.
  • Clean the walker with warm water and a mild soap, and keep the caster free of dirt and hair.
  • Replace a caster that stops rolling freely or has a damaged tread.

What does it work with, and what are its limits?

  • The caster has no separate load rating; the walker's own user limit applies.
  • It fits the 75 mm wheel position only; a different wheel size needs a different caster.

How does it compare?

Frequently asked questions

Will one caster replace all four?

No. The order is one caster, and a Bure walker uses four.

Can I take the caster apart to change the wheel?

No. The caster is sealed; replace the whole assembly.

Which code is the braked 75 mm wheel?

Both 57-051 and 56-387 are used for a 75 mm wheel, and they do not agree on the brake. Match the caster on the frame.
