Description
A bath step lowers the reach into the tub: you put a foot on it, then into the tub. MHSBS is one step, 4 in (10 cm) high, and a second one stacks on top when you need more.
Who it suits, and who should choose something else
- Someone who can stand and step but finds the tub wall too high. The step gives a lower first step, 4 in (10 cm) off the floor.
- If the person needs to sit rather than step, choose a bath chair or a transfer bench. MHSBS is a step, not a seat.
Will it fit your bathroom?
- It measures 15 in wide by 18 in deep (38 by 46 cm) and 4 in (10 cm) high. Check the clear floor space in front of the tub first.
- Measure your tub's step-in height, then add the step: 4 in (10 cm) for one, 6 in (15 cm) for two. A free home assessment measures the bathroom if you are unsure.
How do you stack two steps?
- Tool free. Turn the upper step over and take out the four white circles with a coin.
- Line the prongs up with the holes in the lower step and press down firmly.
- A second step is sold separately and adds 2 in (5 cm).
How safe is it?
- Rated 300 lbs (136 kg). MOBB describes the top as slip resistant, and the feet have built-in non-slip pads.
- Keep it on a flat floor in front of the tub.
How does it compare?

Does the step attach to the tub?
No. It is free standing, so it sits on the floor and is not fixed to the tub or the wall.
Is the second step included?
No. One step comes in the box. Buy a second if you want the platform 2 in (5 cm) higher, and it clips on top.
Will it slip on a wet floor?
The feet have built-in non-slip pads and MOBB describes the top as slip resistant.
What colour does it come in?
MOBB publishes no colour choice for MHSBS. The step in our photos has a blue top and a white body.
