Description
The MHTBB is a bath board: a low seat that lies across the tub walls instead of standing on legs, so the washroom floor stays clear.
Who it suits, and who should choose something else
- Someone who can step into the tub and sit down on a board, and wants no legs in the way.
- Sliding in from outside the tub instead: a transfer bench puts two legs on the bathroom floor.
- Wanting a back and arms: the bath chairs and stools are the ones to compare.
Will it fit your tub?
- The board is 28 in long by 12.5 in wide by 2 in thick (71 x 32 x 5 cm).
- MOBB lists it as a universal fit on most tubs, with no tub measurement published, so measure yours.
- A free home assessment checks the board against your tub.
How do you set it up?
- It is one piece: nothing is published about assembly and nothing is fixed to the tub.
- Lay it across the tub so the feet sit flat on both walls, then check it does not shift before you sit down.
How safe is it?
- 250 lbs (113 kg) is the limit. It is a seat, not a step or a lift.
- The latex-free rubber feet hold it in place. Keep the tub walls clean and dry, and check the board before each use.
How does it compare?
A transfer board is a different product: the ones in our range carry someone between a bed and a chair, not across a tub. For bathing, this board sits lowest, a bath stool or chair adds legs and a back, and a transfer bench lets you slide across the tub wall. All are in the bathroom safety range.
Frequently asked questions
How much weight does it hold?
250 lbs (113 kg), the figure MOBB prints on its page and sheet.
Is the soap dish a separate part?
No. It is built into the board, so a bar sits on the board, not the tub edge.
Can it be used for bed transfers?
No. It is sized to lie across a tub. For a bed to chair transfer, ask about a transfer board.
Is the handle in the photos included?
MOBB's photos show a grab handle at one end, but the maker's sheet lists only the board, its soap dish and its grip feet. Ask us what ships.
Does it come in other sizes?
MOBB sells MHTBB in one size only, with no wider or longer version.
