Description
Savaria FastTrack is the rail system a fixed ceiling lift travels on. It is planned room by room, so the quote names the run, the curves and the hardware your ceiling needs.
What the track system covers
- Patented brackets that the installer secures with a simple turn of Savaria's tool.
- Hardware for three ceiling structures: wood, concrete or steel.
- Straight runs, curves, or an XY system: an "H" shaped track where the lift rides a moving rail that slides along two parallel rails, so the person can be moved anywhere within the H shape.
What is quoted separately
- The lift motor. See fixed ceiling lifts for the motors.
- The carry bar and a sling matched to the motor. See slings.
- Installation, planned from your room, your ceiling and where the person needs to travel.
The working load of a finished system is set by the motor, the carry bar and the installation, and your quote states it.
Is a track the right plan?
- A track suits a room where transfers happen every day, such as bed to bathroom.
- If a ceiling cannot take a track, a floor lift may fit better: see patient lifts.
- Health Canada explains fall risks with lifts on its patient lifts page.
Frequently asked questions
Does FastTrack come with a ceiling lift?
No. FastTrack is the track and hardware. The motor is chosen and quoted on its own.
Which ceilings can it be mounted to?
Savaria supplies hardware for wood, concrete or steel. The room is checked before the layout is quoted.
What is an XY system?
An "H" shaped track: the lift runs on a rail that itself slides along two parallel rails, so it covers an area instead of one line.
