Savaria's In-Situ Amputee Sling is a clip full-body sling with head support, sized from XS to XXL.
Who is this clip sling for?
- Amputee transfers, and other people who need a continuous seat under the body.
- Someone who needs head support during the lift.
- Bed application, lying flat or by turning. It is not a loop sling.
Which size, and which bar?
Tell us your lift model and serial number and we confirm the fit before you order.
- Listed by the maker for: clip-style ceiling and floor lifts with a stud bar. No model is named.
- Do not put the clips on a loop bar, and do not put loop straps on a stud bar.
- Listen for the click when each clip seats, then fasten the head-support buckle.
- Match column A, the around-the-body arrow. Large, the usual start, is 42.5-51.25 in (108-130 cm).
- Column B is the side-view arrow. Large is 31.5-34.75 in (80-88 cm). No weight band is printed per size.
- Sling and lift ratings have to match. Health Canada states that limit. This sling is 600 lb (272 kg).
Can it stay under the person?
- Yes, after a risk assessment. The maker does not say to leave it in place without that check.
- Fabric is Silva-Superfine PLUS spacer cloth, with soft binding.
- Thread the leg strap through the modesty loop before you clip the legs.
- Wash at 203 F (95 C). Tumble dry on low, max 122 F (50 C). Do not iron.
- Check cloth, straps and the label every use. Retire the sling if anything is worn or the label cannot be read.
How does it compare?
- This cut adds a more continuous seat for a residual limb. It is not a hygiene sling with a commode opening.

Frequently asked questions
Does it have a commode opening?
No. The sheet does not show one, so choose a hygiene sling if toileting access is the reason for the change.
One residual limb is longer. Which size?
The sheet has no limb-length chart. Send both limb lengths with the A and B measures and we will check the size.
Can it move from one clip lift to another?
Only if both lifts use a stud bar and each rating covers the person. A loop bar is the wrong hanger.
Is XS a child size?
The sheet does not say. XS is the smallest body range, A 30-34 in (76-86 cm), so measure before you treat it as paediatric.
