Description
This is the chair to buy if it has to come out of the bathroom between uses. It sits in our bathroom safety range, and it goes from flat to standing without a screwdriver.
What it is for
A chair in the shower suits anyone who cannot stand for a whole wash, or tires partway. The folding back makes this the one to pick when the shower is shared or when the chair travels.
- The back folds flat onto the seat and the legs pull out of their sockets, so the chair packs down.
- Aluminium legs and a moulded plastic seat and back, which is what keeps it at 8 lb.
- The seat has a dimpled centre and drainage holes, as the maker's own photos show.
Height and fit
The legs adjust on push buttons, and the maker's own figures put the seat between 17 in and 23 in off the floor. Measure the height you want to sit at before you order.
Its fitting sheet says every button must sit right through its hole so the chair stands level. Tell us the space it has to fit.
Delivery, returns and service
We deliver across Toronto and the GTA. An unused chair can go back under our returns policy, and we handle service and parts on what we sell. Drive's limited lifetime warranty covers materials and workmanship.
Where else to look
If the person cannot step into a tub at all, a transfer bench straddles the tub wall so they can sit down outside it first. A grab bar answers the same problem for anyone still standing to wash.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need tools to put it together?
No. The legs push into their sockets and click onto the buttons, and the back folds up over the seat frame. Drive's sheet says to check each button is right through its hole.
How high does the seat go?
The maker's figures give 17 in to 23 in from the floor. Set all four legs to the same hole, or the chair will rock.
Will it fit in my tub or shower?
Measure the space and the height you want, then ask us. If the person cannot step over the tub wall, a transfer bench is the better buy.
Does it come with the arms?
No. The seat has sockets for the maker's arms and soap tray, and the maker's own sheets list both as sold separately.
What does the warranty cover?
Limited lifetime from Drive against defects in materials and workmanship, for the original purchaser. Rubber tips and other wear parts are not covered.
