Description
The Geo-Matt PRT is a wheelchair seat cushion that keeps the maker's Geo-Matt cell top in a lower, firmer base. Span America cuts it to 3 in from high density foam, so the seat sits lower in the chair. It ships on an anti-slip cover with a non-skid bottom.
What the lower profile changes
- Transfers are easier when the seat does not sit high, which is what the maker builds this cushion for.
- A lower seat leaves more of the wheel in reach, so the maker says propulsion is easier.
Check the fit
- Five sizes, width by length: 16 x 16, 18 x 16, 18 x 18, 20 x 16 and 20 x 18 in.
- It is 3 in high, so check the drop against the chair skirt and your footrests.
- The maker gives a 250 lb weight limit for the 3 in cushion.
- For a heavier rider the maker builds a 4 in high bariatric version rated 500 lb.
- The cover grips on its own, with an anti-slip top and a non-skid bottom.
The cells and the cover
- The Geo-Matt top is cut into individually responsive cells, which the maker says lowers pressure, heat and moisture under the seating area.
- Ring-of-Air channels between the cells are the maker's name for the ventilation path through the top layer.
- The bottom of the cover has a sleeve for a molded Sling-Fill base, sold separately.
- Two other covers exist in 18 in x 16 in, one with a Soft Skin sleeve, one in vinyl and nylon.

Frequently asked questions
Does the cover take a molded base?
Yes. The bottom of the cover has a sleeve for a molded Sling-Fill base, which the maker sells separately. Ask us and we will price it with the cushion.
How do I clean the cover?
Wipe it and let it dry, and ask us for the maker's care sheet.
Which size do I measure for?
Measure the seat width between the armrests and the depth from the back canes forward, then take the nearest size. Send both figures through contact if you are between sizes.
Is there a bariatric version?
Yes, as a separate part. The four bariatric sizes are 4 in high with a 500 lb limit and are ordered in. Ask us and we will bring in the right one.
