Description
The Span America PressureGuard APM control unit is the pump that inflates the PressureGuard APM therapeutic mattress. It hangs on the bed footboard on fold-out hangers and connects to the mattress with two quick-connect airlines. A green on/off switch and a low pressure indicator sit on its side.
The comfort dial sets firmness. The unit runs either an alternating cycle, inflating and deflating the mattress cylinders on a fixed eight-minute cycle, or a float mode. It is UL listed and carries the maker's 18-month warranty. A trained technician fits and services it; if the low pressure light stays on, call service.
It fits the PressureGuard APM mattress and is ordered as a spare part, not with the mattress. The maker gives no separate rating for the control unit; the surface it is used on has a maker weight limit of 350 lb.
