Description
Savaria states the APM-i is for treatment through stage 4, and for prevention when someone is immobile or at high risk. The person's nurse, doctor or therapist decides if this surface is the right one.
How the 6200 is set
SmartImmerse sets the air for the person on the bed. Firmness can still move up, down, or back to the original setting.
- Immersion fills all four cylinders together.
- Alternating pressure and lateral rotation each use a fixed 10 minute cycle.
- Auto Firm runs for 20 minutes, then the mattress returns to the previous mode.
- A low-pressure light and a power-failure light can sound.
Will 38036 fit the bed?
This code is 80 in long, 36 in wide and 7 in thick (203 x 91 x 18 cm). It goes on the bed frame, not on top of another mattress. An 84 inch deck, or a 42 inch width, needs 38436, 38042 or 38442.
The limit is 350 lbs (159 kg). The bed's own limit still applies if it is lower. Health Canada recommends rail gaps under 120 mm (4 3/4 in) in zones 1 to 3 and under 60 mm (2 3/8 in) in zone 4. Compressed air can widen them. See bed rails.
Power loss, CPR and the cover
If the power fails, the light and the alarm come on. Fit the transport cap so the air lines are sealed. The manual does not say how long that air stays in the mattress.
For CPR, press Auto Firm and put a crash board under the person. This manual has no quick-deflate valve. Other powered mattresses are in the alternating pressure category.
The cover is zippered, bacteriostatic, fluid-proof and tear resistant. The mattress warranty is 3 years. The cover warranty is 2 years. The control unit warranty is 18 months.
