Description
Article 6061 is a pair of SystemRoMedic SupportStraps. Each strap has a loop at one end and a plastic clasp at the other. They work only with a belt or an aid, never on their own.
What are SupportStraps used for?
- As a leg harness for an EasyBelt or FlexiBelt, stopping the belt sliding upward during a transfer or gait training.
- As torso or side support with the QuickMove sit-to-stand aid, together with an EasyBelt, FlexiBelt or FlexiMove.
- As side support with the ReTurn transfer platform, together with a ReTurnBelt.
- The padded cases stay on for leg-harness use and come off for the side-support uses.
How much weight can they take?
- The maker rates the pair at 150 kg (331 lbs), or 75 kg (165 lbs) per strap.
- Keep to the lower rating: the belt or aid they attach to has its own load limit.
- They are a support accessory for standing, gait training and transfers, not a lifting sling, and a person must not be left unattended during a transfer.
How do you fit and look after them?
- For a leg harness, thread the loop through the belt handle, pass the strap between the user's legs, then clasp it to the handles on the front of the belt.
- For side support on a ReTurn, loop the loops around the platform and clasp to the handles on each side.
- Adjust so the straps sit with tension rather than slack, and check the seams, fabric, clasps and handles after every wash.
Where do they fit in a transfer?
SupportStraps are usually bought with the belt or platform that needs them. See patient lifts and transfer aids for the range, sit-to-stand lifts for the QuickMove and ReTurn, and the other transfer gait belts.
Frequently asked questions
Do SupportStraps work without a belt?
No. They loop and clip to a SystemRoMedic belt and to the handles of the QuickMove or ReTurn, so they are not a belt on their own.
Can I use them with another brand's gait belt?
The maker lists them for its own EasyBelt, FlexiBelt, ReadyBelt, ReTurnBelt and FlexiMove. Ask us before pairing them with a different brand.
How long should a pair last?
The maker expects up to 10 years of normal use. Inspect the straps and clasps before each use and after washing, and discard at the first sign of wear.
