Description
A padded cushion that lies over the toilet seat and turns a hard, cold surface into a soft one. The PCP 7018 is two inches of foam under a naugahyde cover, and it fits in a minute with no tools.
People who sit a long time, or who are recovering from surgery or a pressure sore, feel the seat most. Foam spreads that weight over a wider area and takes the chill off the porcelain. The pad measures about 15 inches by 12.5 inches and covers a standard seat.
Fitting it and cleaning it
Three hook-and-loop straps on the underside loop over the seat and meet underneath it. Nothing is bolted down, so the cushion lifts off when someone else needs the toilet or when you want to wipe it over.
The naugahyde cover is the wipeable part: clean it with a damp cloth and mild soap, let it dry, and keep the foam inside dry.
What it is not
This is comfort padding, not a raised toilet seat. It adds roughly two inches of height, which some find easier to stand up from, but it gives no arms to push on and no frame.
Where the seat is too low to rise from, or the person needs steadying on the way down, a raised seat with arms does that job.

Will it help with a pressure sore?
