This is a transition gate, the maker's device that joins a traverse (X/Y) track section of a ceiling lift system to a single-track section, so the lift can cross between the two parts of the run.
This one is the 625 lb gate for Regular Track or Super Track traversing track, and it sits at the join to a single-track section.
The maker also makes 1000 lb gates for those tracks, 363987-1 and 363988-1 for right and left hand, so the capacity and the hand decide which one you need. Tell us your track profile and where the gate sits.
