Description
The Whitmyer Cuddles line is head positioning for infants, built to newborn proportions, not scaled down from an adult pad. Two systems are sold under the name: a three pad support that adjusts in several directions, and a single contoured cradle pad.
Which of the two systems is right?
The Infant Three Pad Support System is the more aggressive of the two. Its three pads can be set separately, which suits an infant who needs the head held firmly or who leans to one side.
The Infant Contoured Cradle Support is simpler: one pad that cradles the base of the skull and turns on its collar to meet the head.
How does the three pad system hold the head?
Both sub-occipital pads adjust for width and rotation, and the occipital pad moves forward and back on its own. Because each pad adjusts independently, an uneven posture can be met on one side without over-correcting the other.
What cover and mountings come with it?
The headrests come in an extra fine fleece that is washable and gentle on sensitive skin, and they mount on AXYS or ONYX hardware, the two compact systems the maker lists for infants. Lateral supports and a forehead strap can be added.

Frequently asked questions
Is this for a pram or a wheelchair?
For a wheelchair or an infant seating system. It mounts on the chair's back and holds the child's head in the seating they use every day.
Can it be used as the child grows?
The pads adjust in width and rotation, so there is some room to grow, but Cuddles pads are cut for infants. When the child outgrows them, the maker's pediatric pads take over on the same mountings.
Which mounting should I pick, AXYS or ONYX?
Both are compact and both fit this head support. ONYX comes in pediatric and adult sizes, so it is the usual choice when the child is already in a growing chair.
