Description

The Axiom G is Ki Mobility's everyday foam cushion: a molded polyurethane base with a mild contoured well, in 50 width and depth sizes. The maker classes it as a general purpose cushion.

Who it suits

  • Ki Mobility describes "a mild contoured well that supports the trochanters, transitioning the femurs and enveloping the ischial tuberosities and coccyx for support and stability".
  • It is a general purpose cushion, built for everyday seating rather than pressure care.
  • A seating assessment by an occupational therapist or physiotherapist decides which cushion suits.

Which size fits your wheelchair?

  • The maker's order form lists 50 width and depth pairs, from 14 x 14 in to 22 x 22 in, each with its own XG item number (XG plus the width and depth, so XG1818 is 18 in wide by 18 in deep) in the size picker.
  • It is not a square grid: 14 in wide runs only 14 to 18 in deep, 15 in and 17 in wide run 15 to 20 in and 16 to 20 in, and 22 in wide starts at 18 in deep.
  • Measure the seat pan between the armrests for the width, and from the backrest to the front edge for the depth.

How is it built?

  • The base is molded high-IFD polyurethane foam, with hexagonal shapes in the well.
  • Ki Mobility says the hexes reduce surface tension and increase envelopment around the ischia and coccyx.
  • It sits 3 in (7.6 cm) high, weighs 2.2 lb (1 kg) and holds up to 350 lb (158.8 kg).

Covers and care

  • The pleated four way stretch cover closes with a reversed self-sealing zipper. A wipeable incontinence resistant cover can be ordered instead, or either with a spare cover.
  • Machine wash the cover in warm water and tumble dry with no heat; never immerse the foam. Spare covers sit in our wheelchair cushion range.

Warranty and service

Ki Mobility warrants the base for 24 months and the cover for 6 months against defects. Warranty service runs through us; orders follow our return policy.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Axiom G a pressure relief cushion?

Ki Mobility classes it as general purpose. For pressure care, the skin protection and positioning models in the same line suit better.

Which item number do I order?

XG plus the width and depth, so XG1818 is 18 x 18 in. Every pair the order form lists is in the picker. Add IC for the incontinence cover, or C2 for a spare.

What care does the cover need?

Wash it in warm water, tumble dry with no heat, and never immerse the foam.
