Description

The Beka Avero Motion E is a side-entry care bathtub. A partly mobile resident can walk in through the side door, sits on the moulded seat, and the tub tilts back 23 degrees into the bathing position. It runs from a cable remote control. BEKA Hospitec builds it for Savaria in Canada.

Who is the Motion E for?

The maker rates it for mobility groups 1 to 3, and group 4 only with a transfer hoist. The maker says a partly mobile resident can enter through the side door on their own.

Will it fit your bathroom?

The tub is 33.9 in (860 mm) wide, 69.3 in (1760 mm) long and 75.6 in (1920 mm) high. It needs a level floor, 120 V power and hot and cold water.

How does a bath work in it?

Fill the foot area first: 98 L (25.9 gal) sits there, so the resident is in warm water as soon as the tub tilts. It drains at 75 L a minute and lifts to 31.9 in to 39.8 in (810 to 1010 mm).

How safe is it to use?

The safe working load is 772 lbs (350 kg) with the patient and the water, and the most a resident can weigh is 485 lbs (220 kg).

The tub has double scalding protection, and the hot and cold water mixer must be set up for your water supply before the first bath. An emergency function for a power failure is an option, and your quote says whether it is fitted.

How do you clean it?

Wipe the tub with a soft cloth and soapy water or a standard plastic cleaner, never an abrasive. Disinfect it after each use; surface damage from aggressive cleaners is not covered.

How is the Motion E different?

The Motion E has no control panel on the tub, so nothing stands between the resident and the room. Everything runs from the cable remote control, which is standard here and an option on the plain Avero Motion.

How do delivery, setup and service work?

We deliver across Toronto and the GTA, level the tub on its screw legs and walk your team through a bath. Our showroom is open to visit.

This is a fixed bathing unit, so it is installed and not returnable once used, as our return policy explains. The Motion E manual and sheet are on our documents page.

What does the maker's warranty cover?

The operating manual says surface damage from aggressive cleaning is not covered. Your quote states the Canadian warranty period for the Motion E.

How does it compare?

This is a bathing system: a fixed care tub a resident walks into. A bath lift moves someone in and out of an ordinary tub, and a Niagara bathing system is another fixed care tub.

Frequently asked questions

Does the tub tilt back on its own?

Yes. The carer tilts it back 23 degrees from the cable remote control.

Can a resident get in without being lifted?

The maker designs it for that: the side door opens at an entry height of 19.3 in (490 mm).

How much water does a bath take?

About 270 L (71.3 gal), with 98 L (25.9 gal) already in the foot area before the tub tilts back. It drains at 75 L a minute.

Does it need a hoist in the room?

Not for mobility groups 1 to 3. Group 4 residents need a transfer hoist as well, and the open base frame lets one reach over the tub.
