Description
The Evolution Xpresso Type 3, model MW3EV0040, is a centre-fold rollator from Evolution Technologies. It is for someone who wants a seat, hand brakes, and a Mini, Regular, or Tall frame.
What does it do and how does it work?
- Every size carries 350 lb (159 kg).
- The frame weighs 18 lb (8.2 kg) without the basket, back support, or accessories.
- The seat is 18 in (45.7 cm) wide, with a waterproof polyurethane cushion.
- Cable-free brakes squeeze to slow you. Press both down until they click to park.
- Pull the centre seat handle up to fold it. The frame stays standing.
- Four 8 in (20.3 cm) polyurethane wheels suit indoor floors and outdoor pavement.
Who is it for, and who should choose something else?
It is for someone who wants a seat on a four-wheel rollator. A lighter Xpresso Lite or a higher-capacity Xpresso Wide is the other choice.
Will it fit?
The frame is 22.5 in (57.2 cm) wide and 26 in (66.0 cm) long. Seat height is 18 in (45.7 cm) Mini, 21 in (53.3 cm) Regular, and 24 in (61.0 cm) Tall.
Handles are 30.5-33.5 in (77.5-85.1 cm) Mini, 30.5-34.5 in (77.5-87.6 cm) Regular, and 33.5-40 in (85.1-101.6 cm) Tall. Set them at your wrist, or a little higher, with your shoulders level.
Using it day to day
Push the centre seat handle down until the frame locks. That handle must be level with the seat before you sit. Pull it up to fold. Carry the folded rollator by that handle.
Lock both brakes before you sit. Do not park the brakes while moving. For the basket, fold part way, set the black brackets on the inside rails, and open until it clicks.
What does it work with, and what are its limits?
You get the rollator with the seat and handles fitted, a soft basket, a back support, a warranty card, and the owner manual. A cup holder, cane holder, curb climber, and slow-down brake are separate.
It is not a wheelchair. Do not push a door open with it or strike a curb. The frame and metal parts have a lifetime warranty. Brakes and the polyurethane seat are 5 years. Other parts are 1 year. Wear is excluded.
Which version should I choose?
Pick Mini, Regular, or Tall from the seat height and handle range above. Colours are Ebony Black, Ruby Red, and Azure Blue.
How does it compare?
- Xpresso Lite: 15 lb (6.8 kg), and 300 lb (136 kg) on Mini and Regular.
- Xpresso Zero: 16 lb (7.3 kg) on Mini and Regular, with offset rear forks.
- Xpresso Wide: 450 lb (204 kg), at 30 lb (13.6 kg) to 31 lb (14.1 kg).
