Description
The GB220 is Golden's Buzzaround CarryOn HD, a folding travel scooter rated 400 lb. It folds flat into a car, and the lithium-ion battery comes out to charge indoors.
Who is the CarryOn HD built for?
- Riders up to 400 lb who want a 4-wheel travel scooter that folds instead of coming apart into loose pieces. Compare our folding scooters.
- If you need postural support or pressure relief, or cannot get on and off alone, ask your therapist whether a power wheelchair suits you better.
How does the CarryOn HD drive?
- Top speed is 6.9 km/h (4.29 mph). The 12.5 AH battery gives 22.9 km (14.2 mi) at 200 lb.
- The brushless motor drives the rear wheels. Clearance is 4.63 in (118 mm) under the deck and 2.3 in (58 mm) at the motor; the turn is 48.75 in (1238 mm).
- Solid low-profile tires (7.25 in front, 8.25 in rear) cannot go flat, and front and rear LED lights help you be seen.
How does it fold, and can you fly with it?
- It folds flat to 14 in (356 mm) high without the seat. The heaviest piece is the main body at 52.5 lb (23.8 kg).
- The battery lifts out and travels with you. Golden publishes the Ah rating, but not the watt-hours.
- No scooter is airline approved in general. The airline approves each battery-powered mobility aid before you fly, so check with your carrier.
What comes with it, and which colour do you get?
- The box includes the 12.5 AH battery in a travel case, an off-board charger, the front basket, and a Coastal Blue shroud set. Golden's sheet also lists a spare 6.5 AH pack; ask us what the Canadian carton holds.
- Velvet Red comes fitted; optional shrouds include Canary Yellow, Crisp White, Orchid Pink, Stone Grey, Army Green, and Desert Tan.
- The seat is black vinyl with width-adjustable armrests, and the tiller adjusts.
Frequently asked questions
Is the CarryOn HD the same as the CarryOn?
No. This page is the CarryOn HD (GB220), rated 400 lb. The older Buzzaround CarryOn (GB120) is a lighter scooter. Match the label before you order.
Does the carton include the spare battery?
Golden's sheet lists a spare 6.5 AH pack beside the fitted 12.5 AH battery. The Canadian carton has not been checked, so ask us.
Does the seat come off to store it?
Yes. The seat lifts off, and the scooter folds to 14 in high without it.
