Which power chairs and scooters does this battery fit?
Order it when the label you remove says gel, 12 V, Group 22NF, and the terminals are the reversed M6 inserts. Interstate's Also Fits list for this part is short.
- Pride Maxima, 3-wheel: Interstate Also Fits lists Pride Maxima, 3-wheel, and Pride part BATGEL1003. A 58 Ah gel label is a different rating.
- Fortress 1700, 3-wheel and 4-wheel: Sunrise requires gel, and the battery box maximum is 9.4 x 6.63 x 9.25 in.
Do not use this gel in place of an AGM the chair maker requires, and do not put it beside an AGM. The MK 8G22NF is MK's gel Group 22NF, a different part number and a different amp-hour rating.
What must match the old battery?
- Read maker, part number, 12 V, amp-hours, and the word gel. AGM is the wrong chemistry.
- Look at the terminals. This part is an M6 insert with reversed terminals. A flag or a post is a different battery, even at 55 Ah.
- Measure the case: 9.01 in long, 5.43 in wide, 8.07 in high on the current record. Include the inserts in the height you measure in the chair.
How many and how should they be charged?
Buy two GEL0055 batteries when both boxes are this gel part. Do not mix gel with AGM, and do not leave an old battery beside a new one.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use this instead of an AGM 22NF?
Only if the chair maker allows gel and the label you remove is gel. The DCM0055 is the AGM. Do not mix one gel and one AGM in the same chair.
My label says 50 Ah. Is this the same battery?
Interstate's current record says 55 Ah and does not print an hour rate. Send the label. Do not assume 50 Ah and 55 Ah are the same part.
Will it fit a Fortress 1700?
Sunrise requires gel in that scooter, and this is a gel Group 22NF. The case is inside the published box maximum. Measure the old battery, inserts included, before you order.
